Gayle B. Murray is the Director of Youth Advocacy Division for the Georgia Public Defender Council, where she leads statewide initiatives to strengthen juvenile defense practice and elevate the voices of young people in the justice system. A career public defender with nearly three decades of experience, she has served as Chief Assistant Public Defender for DeKalb County’s Juvenile Division and spent years training, mentoring, and supporting young attorneys across Georgia. Gayle is a 1996 graduate of Emory University School of Law and a 1993 graduate of the University of Miami (FL). Her work centers on building defender capacity, expanding community partnerships, and advancing youth‑centered advocacy. She is also deeply engaged in service, leadership development, and parent and community organizations throughout DeKalb County.
