About me
Josh Larkey is the Circuit Public Defender for the Waycross Judicial Circuit. A 2004 graduate of the University of Georgia School of Law, he began his career as a partner in a small law firm in Fitzgerald, Georgia, where he practiced in trial and appellate courts throughout the state. While in private practice, Mr. Larkey maintained a large criminal caseload, and also represented plaintiffs in federal civil rights and employment discrimination actions. Mr. Larkey joined GPDC as an assistant public defender in 2011. He became Chief Assistant Public Defender for the Waycross Judicial Circuit in 2013, and was appointed Circuit Public Defender in 2019. He also currently serves on the State Bar of Georgia Indigent Defense Committee. During his thirteen years with the agency Mr. Larkey has represented countless clients in all manner of criminal proceedings, and he is privileged to lead an outstanding team of attorneys and staff who work tirelessly every day on behalf of their clients.
